Your city or town may apply for up to 80 hours of help from a MassDEP Municipal Assistance Coordinator (MAC) for a high-priority recycling, solid waste, or Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) project to which it is willing and able to commit its own staff.
Technical Assistance grants are competitive and subject to MAC availability.
Your city or town must have completed its MassDEP Municipal Recycling & Solid Waste surveys for the last two calendar years at Re-TRAC Connect™ to qualify for SMRP technical assistance.

The agency will complete its review of your proposal and notify you of its decision within one month of the application closing date. If your city or town is awarded technical assistance, you will need to assign a local project manager and sign a mutually agreed upon scope of work to begin the process of working with your assigned MAC.
