What you need for The Massachusetts Continuously Operating Reference Station Network (MaCORS)

The MassDOT Survey Office is responsible for the maintenance of the horizontal and vertical network of geodetic survey control stations throughout Massachusetts, and MaCORS serves to enhance this network.

MaCORS is a system of continuously operating Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reference stations located throughout Massachusetts. It is designed to assist surveying, engineering, and GIS mapping professionals in a variety of static and real-time differential GNSS positioning applications. It is comprised of 20 GNSS base stations approximately 50 km apart, throughout Massachusetts.

Positional information can be obtained from this network through the post-processing of raw static (RINEX) data downloaded from this website, or in real-time by using correction data broadcast via the internet. Depending on equipment and procedures, MaCORS can provide users the ability to achieve 1-3 cm positioning for surveying applications or sub-meter positioning for GIS mapping applications.
