What you need
License verifications can be generated from our License Verification sites FindMyDoctor.mass.gov or FindMyAcupuncturist.mass.gov. You will need either the licensee's full name or MA license number to retrieve their profile and generate the verification letter.
Fees
Self-service online license verifications for Full Physician and Full Acupuncture licensees are available at no cost. Please see the "Online" details below.
Verification for Limited or Temporary Physician licenses are not currently available online; you may request a manual license verification by mail for a $10.00 fee.
If you or your requesting organization is unable to accept the online verification letter, the licensee may also request a manual license verification by mail for a $10.00 fee.

How to verify
Please proceed to the License Verification site, select the License type, and search for the licensee by name or license number. Click on the licensee's name to open their individual profile page.
Click on the "Generate Verification of Licensure" button to create a verification letter in .pdf format. You may download or print this uniquely-identified letter as needed. The information presented is effective as of the time when generated.
Currently, the self-service verification is for Massachusetts Full Physician and Full Acupuncture licensees only.
For license types other than Massachusetts Full Physician and Full Acupuncture licenses, please download and fill out the appropriate forms and return to the Board with a $10.00 check by U.S. Mail or overnight mail.
If your organization requires the verification to be manually sent by the Board, the licensee may also download and fill out the appropriate forms and return to the Board with a $10.00 check by U.S. Mail or overnight mail.
