About POD01

PSAP Operations Division 1 is a Public Safety Answering Point operated by the State 911 Department.

On July 1, 2018, the PSAP Operations Division (POD-01) of the State 911 Department was formed to staff and operate the Wireless 9-1-1 Center in Framingham, formerly operated by the Massachusetts State Police. The Division became responsible for processing wireless 9-1-1 calls for an area ranging from Central and Eastern Massachusetts, down through Cape Cod.

On January 22, 2024 POD-01 commenced operations at its new emergency communications facility in the Town of Milford. The state-of-the-art facility was outfitted with twenty-two answering positions, affording POD-01 the ability to move towards its goal of eventually expanding into a full regional operation.

The day-to-day operations are managed by a director, deputy director and operations manager. The staff for POD-01 consists of twenty-four (24) civilian public safety dispatchers. The number includes (8) eight supervisor positions and sixteen dispatchers.
