What is Access to Recovery (ATR)?
Access to Recovery (ATR) is a recovery-based program for individuals who are in early recovery from a substance use disorder (SUD). The goal of the program is to support participants in reaching their personalized recovery goals by providing care coordination, job training and supportive services designed to help participants reach their recovery goals with an emphasis on addressing barriers to employment.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible, participants need to be:
- 18 years of age or older
- In early recovery (3 months-2 years) from substance use disorder
- Engaged in services with and referred by an approved referral partner
- Live or plan to live within the following communities within six months: Boston, Lowell, New Bedford, Springfield, Holyoke, or Worcester
Who can make referrals?
Because ATR was designed as a wraparound to existing services, referrals must be made through an approved referral partner as determined by each local coordination agency.
Approved referral partners must:
- Reach out to their local coordination agency to become an approved referral partner. A full list of local coordination agencies appears below.
- Once approved, complete a screening referral form for each participant being referred to the program
- Commit to ongoing communication and collaboration with the local coordination agency to ensure effective care coordination, avoid duplication of services, and promote a positive experience for the participant
What services are offered?
Each participant will engage with a care coordinator to:
- Assess their recovery goals
- Develop a recovery plan
- Identify supportive services, which may include transportation support, clothing, or IDS that are needed to achieve their recovery goals and make progress toward their plan
- Access job readiness and other ongoing job training/employment support
