Description
Adams Pond is a 20 acre impoundment of Singletary brook located off of West Sutton Road in Sutton. Adams Pond is the only remaining of a series of ponds called the Merrill Ponds that were once apart of the old Sutton Fish Hatchery operated by MassWildlife until 1970.
Recreational access
The Central District Offices of MassWildlife manage the Merrill Pond Wildlife Management Area which features a three car parking area, concrete boat ramp suitable for cartop boats and shore fishing access along the Adams Pond dam off of West Sutton Road (get directions). Please contact the central district offices of MassWildlife for additional information pertaining to public access of Adams Pond.
There is limited parking by the dam at Adams Pond with excess spots along the road.
This boat ramp is blocked by bollards but perfect for cartop boats.
Shore fishing is possible along the face of the dam.

Fishing
Renovations to the dam at Adams Pond have expanded access to this waterbody. There is excellent shore fishing off the dam and if accessing by boat, one can navigate the stream channel for some distance upstream. The deepest areas of the pond will be near the dam while other shallower areas will become difficult to navigate as the summer progresses due to aquatic vegetation growth. Adams Pond is a great smaller location to take a kid fishing with easy no snag casting.
