Description
Ames Long Pond is an 86-acre impoundment of Queset Brook that is located west of Route 138 on the Stoughton/Easton town line. The pond is bisected by West Street creating a northern and southern basin which are connected by a culvert but not one that is navigable to boaters. Ames Long Pond has an average depth of 2.5 feet and a maximum depth of 9 feet and aquatic vegetation is abundant throughout.
Recreational access
The town of Stoughton manages a beach on Highland Street in the south basin where cartop boats can be carried in an launched (get directions). Parking at the beach is ample and the shore can be accessed along Highland Street on town owned land. Cartop boat and shore access to both basins is also possible along West Street from within the road right-of-way (get directions). Parking here is along the shoulder of West Street which has been enlarged in places. - black crappie
- bluegill
- pumpkinseed
- brown bullhead
- golden shiner
- American eel

Information about fishing in Ames Long Pond is limited but suggests good action for largemouth bass and chain pickerel.
