BabySteps Outreach Toolkit

In this toolkit, you'll find resources to help you spread the word about how families can claim their free $50 BabySteps deposit to save for college and career training costs from the State Treasurer's Office of Economic Empowerment.

The Massachusetts State Treasurer's Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE) and the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) are here to help families save for their children's future with BabySteps.

Through this program, every child in Massachusetts is eligible to receive a $50 deposit into a MEFA U.Fund 529 College Investing Plan within one year of their birth or adoption.

Did you know your child has already earned $50 to save for their future education? 

BabySteps is a program offered by State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg that provides $50 to Massachusetts families to kickstart their children’s savings for college and career training costs. 

Claim your child’s $50 by opening a U.Fund 529 College Savings Account, managed by Fidelity Investments, within one year of their birth or adoption.
