Behavioral Health Help Line Dashboard

The following dashboard shows statewide Behavioral Health Help Line (BHHL) utilization data and some demographic data about BHHL callers. This data is collected by the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership (MBHP), the vendor that operates the BHHL, and maintained by the Department of Mental Health (DMH).

Routine - Low risk situations

Urgent - Moderate risk situations

Emergent - High risk situations

Warm Handoff Dispositions - The types of direct connections that the BHHL makes between callers and providers based on the caller’s needs

  • Outpatient Mental Health Mental health and substance use services offered in an office, community, or clinic setting and not requiring hospitalization or overnight stay.
  • Urgent Access - Same or next day appointments, or psychopharmacology and medication for addiction treatment evaluations within 72 hours, at Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) or Behavioral Health Urgent Cares (BHUCs). Learn more
  • Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) - MCI teams provide clinical assessment, de-escalation, safety planning, and triage whether at a CBHC location, in someone’s home or community, or through telehealth, 24/7, regardless of insuranceLearn more
  • Emergency Services - 911 or Emergency Department is engaged
