Fishing
Benton Pond is known to have good water quality and clarity. While the shores of the pond are developed, wooded areas can be found on the northern & eastern shores. Some large rocks are scattered in the southern cove, which is shallow & weedy so be on the lookout. Largemouth bass and chain pickerel can be found along the margins of the deep bowl along the southeastern shore. Larger perch and sunfish can be found throughout the pond, with some brown bullhead in the more shallow areas. Little Benton Pond is also a good ice fishing destination with a relatively short walk from the launch to good fishing locations. Benton Pond has produced largemouth bass and white perch that meet minimum size for recognition by the Freshwater Sportfishing Awards Program.
