Chapter 115 Benefits/Safety Net Program

Massachusetts veterans, if you are facing financial difficulties the MA Executive Office of Veterans Services may be able to provide you with financial assistance.

Eligibility

Veterans may be eligible for benefits, which include:

  • Daily living expenses
  • Medical costs
  • Rent assistance
  • Support of dependents
  • Prevention of veteran homelessness
  • Behavioral Health
    • Veterans eligible for Chapter 115 financial benefits may now utilize benefits for outpatient behavioral health services, including outpatient psychiatric, substance use disorder, or other mental health care as well as prescriptions. However, veterans are not eligible for inpatient hospital stays through Chapter 115. 

Municipalities are now allowed to send veterans their benefits either by physical check or by direct deposit. Please reach out to your local officials to see if your municipality offers Chapter 115 benefits through direct deposit.
