Community Engagement Advisory Committee Members

The Community Health Equity Survey was created in collaboration with a Community Engagement Advisory Committee (CEAC), made up of partners working in communities of focus across Massachusetts. CEAC members helped develop and review the survey and design outreach strategies to make CHES more culturally relevant and accessible to communities that have historically been excluded from public health data systems.   • The Allston Brighton Health Collaborative is a collaboration of organizations devoted to working together to promote and improve the health and wellbeing of the communities of Allston and Brighton. 
  • The Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK) provides services for Asian domestic violence survivors in the Greater Boston and Lowell areas, including low-income immigrants with limited English language capabilities. 
  • The Authentic Caribbean Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, based in Boston, geared towards transforming the lives of the Caribbean children impacted by disabilities, HIV/AIDS and their caregivers through health and educational support. 
  • The Black Literacy and Arts Collaborative (B.L.A.C.) Project was created as a means to educate, empower and uplift BIPOC youth and creatives at the intersection of art, culture, and activism. 
  • The Boston Children's Hospital Office of Community Health brings together hospital and community resources to address health disparities, improve health outcomes, and promote health equity. 
  • The mission of the Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association is to improve the quality of life for Cambodian Americans and other minorities and economically disadvantaged persons in Lowell through educational, cultural, economic and social programs. 
  • The Casa Project of Worcester County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for the best interest of children in foster care in Worcester County. 
  • The Health Equity Partnership of North Central Massachusetts (CHNA 9) works to bring together and support diverse voices to promote health equity in our communities. 
  • DEAF, Inc., the only Massachusetts community-based, multi-service nonprofit run by and for Deaf (Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened) adults, inspires people to achieve personal and professional goals through accessible programs and services. 
  • Dignity Alliance Massachusetts is dedicated to implementing and expanding access to essential care improvements and living alternatives that will make the Commonwealth a model of care and living choices. 
  • Disability Policy Consortium’s mission is to ensure the voice of people with disabilities is heard on key issues, to support the health of our community through participatory research and expert policy analysis, to and empower grassroots disability leaders to transform their communities. 
  • The purpose of the Greater Lawrence Community Action Council is to encourage and promote the improvement of community life in Greater Lawrence with special emphasis on, but not limited to, the initiation of programs in education, social services, child care, health, housing youth employment and related fields 
  • Haitian Community Partners works collaboratively with other community-based organizations and national social justice and immigration partners to improve access for the underprivileged to social services, immigration, youth leadership, and mental health services that are comprehensive, integrated, culturally sensitive, and appropriate. 
  • The Immigrants’ Assistance Center helps immigrants meet basic human needs and travel the complex road to American citizenship, employment, and financial self-sufficiency while maintaining their ethnic identity and pride. 
  • Justice 4 Housing (J4H) is a grassroots organization that provides housing and family reunification to Justice Involved Individuals (JIIs) through policy, advocacy and service. 
  • The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers works with and for the Brazilian, Cabo Verdean, Portuguese and other Portuguese-speaking communities to build healthy and successful lives through the provision of direct social and health services, as well as advocacy and development support. 
  • Massachusetts Councils on Aging (MCOA) is a nonprofit, membership association of the 350 municipal councils on aging and senior centers. MCOA supports the 1.7 million older adults, 60 and over in Massachusetts, in leading healthy, purposeful lives. 
  • The Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC) is an association of mission-driven community development organizations dedicated to creating places of opportunity where ALL people can live with dignity while participating in and benefiting from our Commonwealth's economy. 
  • The Multicultural AIDS Coalition mission is to mobilize communities of color to end the HIV epidemic. MAC supports broader efforts to eradicate conditions that fuel the epidemic, including substance abuse, sexually transmitted infections, lack of healthcare access, homelessness, incarceration, and discrimination based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity. 
  • The New American Association of Massachusetts provides employment services, job placement, vocational skills training, social services, cultural programming, and resettlement assistance for refugees and immigrants on the North Shore, MA and Lowell, MA. 
  • The mission of the New England Rural Health Association is to improve the health and wellbeing of communities throughout rural New England. 
  • The North American Indian Center of Boston provides a wide range of cultural, social, educational, and professional services with the goal of improving the quality of life of Indigenous peoples. 
  • Ohketeau is the Nipmuc word for a place to plant and grow. The Ohketeau Cultural Center serves as a place of creation and growth; where ideas will be born, nurtured, and lived out. Not only does this space allow for creative projects, but it is a safe haven for Indigenous community. 
  • The mission of Outer Cape Health Services is to provide a full range of healthcare and supportive social services that promote the health and well-being of all who live in or visit the ten outermost towns of Cape Cod. 
  • PureSpark uses social media and web interface to provide resources and daily coping mechanisms that would otherwise be out of reach for someone who is unfamiliar with the mental wellness system. While open to providing information for everyone, the organization’s focus is on Black women. 
  • The Quaboag Hills Substance Use Alliance (QHSUA) is a diverse, dynamic group of individuals and organizations that have a keen interest in substance use prevention, treatment and recovery in Hampshire, Hampden and Worcester Counties. 
  • Revitalize CDC performs critical repairs, modifications and rehabilitation on the homes and non-profit facilities of low-income families with children, the elderly, military veterans and people with special needs. 
  • The mission of Somali Parents Advocacy Center for Education (SPACE) is to support, educate, and empower parents to be better advocates for their children with disabilities in schools, in healthcare, and in their community. 
  • Gándara Center’s Springfield Family Resource Center provides a number of resources for families in the Springfield community in one convenient location. 
  • The Springfield Mass in Motion initiative promotes policies, systems level changes, and environmental changes aimed at increasing access to healthy eating and active living opportunities for people who live, work, and play in Springfield. 
  • The mission of Stavros is to help persons with disabilities and Deaf people develop the tools and skills they need to take charge of their own lives. 
  • The YMCA of Greater Boston strengthens the Greater Boston community through a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
