Court-ordered suspensions

A court can rule that the RMV suspend or revoke your learner's permit, driver's license, right to operate, and/or vehicle registration.

Overview

As stated in 540 CMR 9.02 and Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 90 Section 27, the RMV will suspend or revoke your learner's permit, driver's license,or right to operate, and/or your vehicle registration if a court mandates it. The length of the suspension period depends on the decision of the court.

The RMV will mail a suspension notice to your address on file stating that the suspension or revocation will begin 10 days after the notice is issued. You will need to meet with a hearings officer to get more information.
