DDS Eligibility for Adults with Autism

Learn who is eligible for adult autism services from the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and how to apply.

Who should apply?

DDS has always served people with Autism and cognitive challenges. Since the Autism Omnibus Bill passed in 2014, adults with Autism—even if they don’t have an intellectual disability—can qualify for services through DDS. People are encouraged to apply starting at age 17, even if you're still in school.

How to apply

You’ll need to fill out the DDS Adult Eligibility Application. The applications are based on age and are in multiple languages.
