Dee Kennedy Project

The Dee Kennedy Project (DKP) provides adults involved with the criminal-legal system a supportive pathway as they navigate its challenges and work toward an exit from commercial sexual exploitation.

About the Dee Kennedy Project

DKP utilizes a trauma-informed and client-centered approach that is provided by peer advocate/recovery coaches employed by North Suffolk Community Services through a contract with the Trial Court.

DKP is a voluntary program that offers a variety of services to adults involved with commercial sexual exploitation including:

  • A peer advocate and recovery coach who lends a supportive ear
  • Peer support and advocacy
  • Connections to social and clinical services
  • Assistance with achieving short and long-term goals

Eligibility and referrals

Eligible adults must have a history or current involvement with commercial exploitation, be 18 years of age or older, and have criminal-legal system involvement in Suffolk County (e.g., open cases, warrants, on probation/parole, filing for a restraining order, currently held at the Suffolk County House of Correction, etc.).

The project is named for Deirdre “Dee” Kennedy, who served as Chief Probation Officer in the Dorchester Division of the Boston Municipal Court and had the vision for this program. Learn more about Ms. Kennedy.
