2025 Season Dates: Oct. 30 – Nov. 1
Every fall, MassWildlife holds a 3-day deer hunting season for hunters with paraplegia. Staff and volunteers help hunters travel to hunting locations across the state. When a hunter shoots a deer, volunteers assist by retrieving, field dressing, transporting, and reporting.
2024 Highlights: Congratulations to the 18 hunters who participated in the 2024 hunt. Nearly all hunters saw deer and 3 deer were harvested. As always, this hunt would not be possible without the support of MassWildlife and DCR staff, private landowners in the Berkshires, and our amazing volunteers.
Hunt history
Each year, hunters with paraplegia can sign up for this special deer hunt. The hunt is typically held at 5 sites: Northern Berkshires, Southern Berkshires, Quabbin Reservation, Devens Reserve Forces Training Area (Lancaster), and Otis/Edwards Military Reservation (Falmouth).
Sportsmen and women with paraplegia interested in taking part in the hunt should contact Susan McCarthy at (508) 389-6326.
