Here, you can find a list of utility companies and excavators that have violated the Dig Safe law.

Utility companies

Utility companies found to have violated G.L. c. 82, § 40B (failure to properly mark out excavation location) in the last 12 months.

Excavators

Excavators found to have violated G.L. c. 82, §§ 40A or 40C or 220 CMR 99.0 (failed to provide a proper notice to Dig Safe, failed to wait 72 hours prior to excavation, failed to call for new Dig Safe ticket after 30 days, failed to include excavator name on Dig Safe ticket, failed to properly describe location or scope of work in Dig Safe ticket, improper use of Emergency Dig Safe ticket, failed to suspend excavation for 24 hours after requested remarking, failed to request remarking at location due to obliteration, destruction, or other removal of such markings, failure to maintain excavation location marks, failure to excavate with reasonable precaution, thus causing damage, failed to perform the excavation using non-mechanical means, performed blasting at an excavation without indicating the date and specific location of the blasting, failed to premark the excavation site before giving notice to the Dig Safe) three or more times in the last 12 months.
