Ersilia Cataldo

Ersilia was known as an angel on earth as she spent much of her time helping people of all walks of life and volunteering her time. We all loved Ersilia deeply. She was a fabulous mother, who supported her three children Carmine, Amata, and Giuseppe. She was a devoted daughter of Elvira and Giuseppe Cataldo and was always there for her parents. She was first generation Italian-American and was the oldest of nine children.

She grew up in, and continued to live in, Everett for almost her entire life. A loving and generous sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, always giving of herself and putting others first.

Within Everett, she served on the School Committee and Board of Registrars and was also on the Board of Assessors. She was vice president of the Kiwanis Club and a devoted church member, allowing her to share her love throughout the community through numerous charitable ventures and opportunities to volunteer. Ersilia often gave to those who were less fortunate; she organized clothing drives, assisted at the shelter, and raised funds to help the less fortunate obtain proper health care. She also organized the Padre Pio and St. Anthony’s Festivals, with proceeds from those festivals going to non-profit organizations.

She was employed by both St. Anthony’s Church of Everett and Metropolitan Credit Union.

Her loss left our family and an entire community mourning the loss of a woman who always made them feel special. She touched a lot of lives all around her.
