Guide to Completing and Submitting MDM1 and MVE Reimbursement Forms

This article provides helpful guidance to municipal assessors as it relates to completing and submitting your community’s Veterans Exemption, MDM-1, and MVE forms.

This is a reminder to all municipal assessors that the deadline for submitting your community’s Veterans Exemption, MDM-1, and MVE forms is Thursday, April 30, 2026 - Communities that do not submit prior to this deadline will not be eligible for reimbursement.  Below is a helpful guide for completing the required forms:

MDM-1 and Veterans Exemption Forms must be completed in the following order:

1. Veterans Exemptions (if applicable) – must be in form submit to allow MDM-1 to be editable and saved.
2. MDM-1

Veterans Exemption form must be signed and submitted by the community prior to submitting MDM-1MDM-1 and Veterans Exemption Forms. Please review the following tips.

• Add New Row / Delete Selected – click the save button at the bottom of the page before using either button for the first time each year
• Veterans Exemption Form - only Clause 22D and Paraplegic applicants will allow you to enter the Total Tax Bill Amount
• Veterans Exemption Form - Clause 22A, 22B, 22C and 22E will not allow the total tax bill amount entered on the Veterans Exemption form, just the number of exemptions is entered on the Veterans Exemption form
• All forms – green shading indicates a locked field (typically due to submit status)
• All forms – orange shading indicates calculated field that cannot be edited (from a “feeder form”)
• All forms – white indicates data entry is available

Remember to sign, save and submit all forms when completed.

Motor Vehicle Excise forms must be submitted once they are complete. Please see the below for more information.
