General Information
Provider organizations that contract with Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs) and deliver personal care, homemaking and companion services to individuals supported by MassHealth or the State Home Care Program must comply with EVV requirements. (EVV is not required for Council on Aging programs that only offer companion services.) Other provider organizations delivering personal care services may have EVV requirements. Please follow the provider descriptions from the Main EVV Webpage to learn about those EVV requirements.
Providers may fulfill EVV requirements by either:
- Purchasing their own EVV system and submitting data on at least a monthly basis to EOHHS’ Data Aggregator;
OR
- Using the state-sponsored EVV system known as MyTimesheet.
Providers that choose to use their own EVV systems are referred to as Alternate-EVV Providers or Alt-EVV Providers. Providers that choose to use MyTimesheet are referred to as MyTimesheet Providers.
EVV Implementation Plan for Provider Organizations that contract with ASAPs
EOHHS will be issuing an RFR to procure an integrated EVV data system (both a Data Aggregator and state-sponsored EVV system). Information regarding the timing of the procurement and how it will impact implementation timelines for ASAP-Contracted Providers is forthcoming.
Options for EVV Compliance
ASAP-contracted providers may fulfill EVV requirements by either:
- Purchasing their own EVV system and submitting data on at least a monthly basis to EOHHS’ Data Aggregator;
OR
- Using the state-sponsored EVV system known as MyTimesheet
The benefits and challenges of the alternatives for meeting EVV requirements varies by provider organization. EOHHS developed the below EVV Cost Considerations document to help ASAP-contracted provider organizations in determining which alternative suits their needs best.
