Fishing
Long Pond is a popular trout fishing destination in early spring coinciding with the annual stocking. During summer, good sized largemouth bass and yellow perch can be found in the southwestern half of the pond. Chain pickerel, with some exceeding 5lb have also been taken here. Sea-run alewives provide ample forage which likely contributes to the presence of large fish. Long Pond has produced largemouth bass, chain pickerel, yellow perch, white perch, brown bullhead, sunfish, and brook trout that meet minimum sizes for recognition by the Freshwater Sportfishing Awards Program.
