Maddilyn Rose Burgess, born June 15th 1990, came bounding into the
world with an exuberant cry, bright blue eyes and wispy locks of beautiful red hair. She was raised in Oxford, Massachusetts where she spent her childhood years participating in Girl Scouts, student council, competitive dance and cheerleading.
After graduating high school, Maddilyn earned an
Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting and aspired to become a
registered nurse. Maddilyn was an avid reader, expressive philosopher and an eloquent writer. She had a natural inclination for lyricism which began at an early age and continued into adulthood. Her appreciation for compelling
quotations exemplified her passion for love, life and self-expression.
Maddilyn was inspired by nature, often finding peace and solitude in all of its beauty.
Sadly, Maddilyn’s dream to publish a book of poetry was unfulfilled. At the tender young age of twenty eight, a horrific and egregious act of domestic violence ended Maddilyn’s precious life.
An altruist at heart, Maddilyn is most remembered for the unconditional love that she demonstrated towards others. Her infectious smile and warm humanitarian spirit made Maddilyn an instant friend to everyone that she encountered. She is deeply missed by her parents, siblings, extended family and many beloved friends.
May her LEGACY OF LOVE live on in each of us by sharing words of encouragement to others, standing boldly beside the oppressed and offering help to those who are less fortunate.
