Massachusetts Access to Counsel Initiative (MACI)

The Massachusetts Access to Counsel Initiative provides full legal representation to eligible immigrants from Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Access to Counsel Initiative (MACI) is a statewide legal representation program, administered by the MIRA Coalition, CPCS, and a statewide network of legal organizations, through a contract with ORI. MACI provides eligible immigrants access to an attorney to provide full representation in immigration removal cases and related services. Through a single intake line, individuals from Massachusetts who are in removal proceedings, including those who have been detained or are not detained, can be screened for eligibility for the program and potential representation.

Services provided

  • Full legal representation for eligible detained or non-detained immigrants.

  • Massachusetts residence; and
  • Meet income and other eligibility guidelines.
