Massachusetts Trial Court Policy on Interactions with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement

This page includes two Trial Court policies concerning interactions with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Please note the effective dates of each policy.

The new Massachusetts Trial Court Policy on Interactions with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement has two separate effective dates. Section III governing information sharing is effective on September 4, 2026. Section II governing civil arrests and all other sections are effective on November 3, 2026.

The Massachusetts Trial Court Policy on Interactions with ICE, was effective May 1, 2025, and is effective through November 2, 2026. This policy will be superseded by the Massachusetts Trial Court Policy on Interactions with United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement as of November 3, 2026.
