About

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is conducting a planning study of the Route 18 corridor between Elm Street and Coggeshall Street. The goal of the corridor study is to identify ways to improve access and connectivity through the Route 18 corridor from Elm Street to Coggeshall Street.

The study will identify improvements to address access, connectivity, and mobility challenges faced by all users of the corridor, including pedestrians, bicycles, transit, and motorists. It will consider access to the new South Coast Rail Station and waterfront, and economic development opportunities.

This is the third phase of the Route 18 redesign. Phase One from Walnut Street to Elm Street was completed in 2012 and Phase 2 from Cove Street to Walnut Street was completed in 2019.
