Peer Support Groups

The Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) partners with the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI) and Sight Loss Services to offer free Peer Support Groups across the Commonwealth for adults age 55 and older.

These groups provided by the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI) and Sight Loss Services provide individuals who are blind or have low vision with a welcoming space to connect with others who share similar experiences. Meetings offer opportunities for practical and emotional support, peer connection, encouragement, and camaraderie.

Participants may:

• Discuss experiences and challenges related to vision loss
• Learn strategies for maintaining independence and adapting to vision change
• Share stories, resources, and build meaningful connections with peers

Many groups offer both in-person and remote attendance options, including phone and Zoom access. If you are interested in attending remotely, please notify the group contact in advance.
