Prison Security Levels
Maximum
Those held at this custody level pose a serious risk to security and require constant and direct supervision.
Medium
Those held at this custody level may still pose a risk to security, however they have demonstrated a willingness to comply with institutional rules and regulations. Increased job and program opportunities also exist at this level.
Minimum
Those held at this custody level do not pose a significant risk to security. They have demonstrated a willingness to comply with the rules and are afforded greater autonomy. Program participation is mandated and geared toward their potential reintegration into the community. Access to the community is limited and under constant direct staff supervision.
Pre-Release
Those held at this custody level do not require direct supervision and may take part in work and educational opportunities in the community.
