Map of Massachusetts Rest Homes and Nursing Facilities with Rest Home Beds
You can use this map below to find rest home beds in your area. This map does not show which facilities currently have open beds.
When you find a facility in your area, you should contact them directly. You should ask if they have open beds, make sure they can meet your needs, and schedule a tour to see the facility in person. Please note that if a rest home does not list a ramp or elevator, it may still be fully accessible—some buildings are designed to be accessible without a ramp, and some are single-level and do not require an elevator.
Rest Home Services and Features
Rest homes provide a supportive living environment for adults who may need 24-hour supervision but do not need ongoing nursing or medical care. Rest homes provide housing, meals, help with medication administration, daily activities, and other supportive services in a safe and respectful setting.
A rest home is more than just a place to stay—it's a long-term home for many residents. It should include respectful, dignified support, tasty and healthy meals, clean and comfortable living spaces, and engaging activities that help residents stay socially connected.
Rest homes are licensed and monitored by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to ensure quality care and living conditions.
Some nursing homes have rest home beds that are designated for residents who need less intensive care than traditional nursing home patients. These beds are typically for individuals who need some assistance with daily activities but do not need the full range of skilled nursing services. Rest home beds in nursing facilities support residents who may later require skilled nursing care. This allows them to stay in a familiar environment.
