South Meadow and Mossy Ponds

South Meadow and Mossy Ponds are located in Clinton, MA. Get a depth map of the lake, along with information about fishing access and the fish population.

Description

South Meadow (37-acres) and Mossy (32-acres) are two great ponds located roughly 1 mile southwest of the center of Clinton. South meadow pond has an average depth of 8 feet and a maximum depth of 21 feet. Mossy Pond has an average depth of 15 feet and a maximum depth of 32 feet. The waters of both are tea stained with limited transparency and common aquatic vegetation. The submerged remnants of a dam under the powerlines demarcate the boundaries of the two ponds and serve as a reminder that theses ponds were once separate waterbodies. South Meadow Pond is connected to Coachlace pond to the southeast, but the culvert is not passible by boat.

South Meadow and Mossy Ponds have produced largemouth bass, chain pickerel, white perch, black crappie, brook trout, and rainbow trout that meet minimum sizes for recognition by the Freshwater Sportfishing Awards Program.
