Massachusetts STEM Week 2023

STEM Week Overview

The Healey-Driscoll Administration is excited to sponsor and host Massachusetts’ annual STEM Week, focused on encouraging our students to “See Yourself in STEM.” With the 2023 STEM Week, Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll and Secretary of Education Dr. Patrick Tutwiler, the co-chairs of the administration’s STEM Advisory Council, are highlighting the importance of STEM education in our fight against the global climate crisis. The Healey-Driscoll Administration wants to remind students that YOUR stem future is OUR stem future—we all depend on future STEM leaders and innovators to deliver the progress and sustainable solutions that will make Massachusetts a world leader in combating the climate crisis.

Massachusetts STEM Week is an annual statewide event that takes place on the third week of October, organized by the Executive Office of Education and the STEM Advisory Council in partnership with the state’s Nine Regional STEM Networks. STEM Week is a statewide effort to boost the interest, awareness and ability of all students to see themselves in STEM opportunities. Young women, students of color, English language learners, and students with disabilities continue to be underrepresented in STEM fields yet make up a larger percentage of the overall workforce. We need more young people to see themselves in STEM and as a important part of our climate solution.

This year STEM Week festivities will kick off on Monday, October 16th. Find events in your region.
