Description
Stoneville Reservoir is a 64-acre impoundment of Chapin Brook located off of Rochdale Street in Auburn. This reservoir is one of three in the area that are owned by the Auburn Water District and used for groundwater recharge.
Recreational access
The town of Auburn manages the old Rotary Beach off of Rochdale Street on the western shore where one can carry in and launch a cartop boat and shore fish (get directions). Parking is along Rochdale Street at the entrance to the old beach with additional parking and shore access farther north and east along Rochdale Street from within the road right-of-way. Please contact the offices of the town of Auburn for additional information and/or restrictions pertaining to public access of Stoneville Reservoir.
Park here along the side of Rochdale Street at the entrance to the old Rotary Beach.
From Rochdale Street, follow a short path to the water.
Fish populations
The following fish species were found during MassWildlife surveys:
- largemouth bass
- chain pickerel
- yellow perch
- black crappie
- bluegill
- pumpkinseed
- white sucker
Fishing
Stoneville Reservoir has produced largemouth bass and yellow perch that meet minimum sizes for recognition by the Freshwater Sportfishing Awards Program.
