Veterans Benefits Administration Under the US Department of Veterans Affairs, the VBA offers assistance in areas such as outreach and transition programs, service-connected compensation, education and training, home loans, life insurance, pensions and more.
Beneficiary Financial Counseling VA makes financial planning and online will preparation services available at no cost to beneficiaries of SGLI (Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance), TSGLI (Traumatic Injury Protection), FSGLI (Family Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance), and VGLI (Veterans' Group Life Insurance).
Disability Compensation A tax free monetary benefit paid to Veterans with disabilities that are the result of a disease or injury incurred or aggravated during active military service. Compensation may also be paid for post-service disabilities that are considered related or secondary to disabilities occurring in service and for disabilities presumed to be related to circumstances of military service, even though they may arise after service.

Fiduciary Program VA's Fiduciary Program was established to protect Veterans and other beneficiaries who, due to injury, disease, or due to age, are unable to manage their financial affairs. VA will only determine an individual to be unable to manage his or her financial affairs after receipt of medical documentation or if a court of competent jurisdiction has already made the determination.

Veteran Service Officers of Massachusetts Veterans' Service Officers are in every city and town in Massachusetts, per Massachusetts state law.
VSOs deliver essential services to eligible veterans and their dependents. Some roles of VSOs include
- Outreach services to veterans to educate on benefits and services
- Offering referrals to programs and services for veterans and their dependents
- Taking applications for state veterans' benefits including Chapter 115 financial benefits and the annuity program
- Helping veterans access employment assistance through career centers and related programs
- Coordinates veteran observances including Memorial Day and Veterans Day
Benefit Estimator Tool helps Massachusetts residents who have served in the military quickly and easily determine if they may be eligible for financial assistance through a state program known as Chapter 115 benefits. By completing this calculator, low-income veterans, along with their dependents and survivors, can find out if they qualify for monthly cash assistance and get information about these benefits earned through their service.
