Federal Programs

Center for Women Veterans The Center’s mission is to advocate for equitable outcomes and access to VA benefits, services, and opportunities for women Veterans through education, outreach, and collaboration. By empowering women Veterans to achieve their life goals through VA benefits and services in collaboration with community stakeholders. We are women Veterans proud to serve our sister Veterans and those who serve them.

Center for Minority Veterans is the Department of Veterans Affairs model for inter-and intra-agency co-operation, to ensure all veterans receive equal service regardless of race, origin, religion, or gender. We are process improvement-oriented and both internal and external customer-centric. We assist VA in executing its mission in the most equitable, efficient and humane way possible. Dignity and an acceptable quality of life are the products we seek to deliver to ALL veterans no matter what their circumstance. We will grace our mission execution with gratitude to the men and women we now serve who in turn served our Nation so well.

Berkshire Veterans Outreach Center is committed to helping veterans and their families in any way we can. We know the challenges that can come with paperwork and other red tape, so we're here to help with anything from VA disability and pension claims to applications for VA healthcare and Veteran ID cards. In some cases, we can even assist with obtaining copies of your discharge paperwork. Whatever you need, we're here to help. Services include help navigating the VA benefits process and access to resources for veterans and their families.

Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center connects veterans, their families, and the Cape and Islands community through comprehensive, life-sustaining services and support since 1983. Services include mental health support, assistance to families, food pantry and transportation. Programs include housing, scholarships and community awareness.

Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center, Inc. Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center (HSNHC) strive to provide equitable, exemplary, high-quality, and timely care to our community at every opportunity. Within HSNHC is a Veterans Center. including access to the city, state, and federal veteran-related benefits, health care services, and health insurance navigation. It is also a community meeting space for veteran service organizations and other non-profits providing a myriad of services to local veterans that address social determinants of health including workforce development, housing and legal assistance.

Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, Inc. provides support to military veterans and their families in need of services to develop a resilient, self-sufficient lifestyle essential to succeed in today’s environment. Services include housing, financial, mental wellness, veterans benefits, food and clothing pantry, women and families as well as local recovery meetings and support for PTS/PTSD.

National Organizations

American Legion The American Legion’s mission is to enhance the well-being of America’s veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. AL has information centers for benefits, career, education and health. There are programs for family and youth and the community as well as local chapter meetings.

AMVETS The AMVETS mission is to enhance and safeguard the entitlements for all American veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for them, their families, and the communities where they live through leadership, advocacy and services. AMVETS reps offer assistance with filing a claim, career counseling, thrift stores, a family service center and advocacy. AMVETS offers programs such as scholarships, ROTC and JROTC medals, military funeral honors and more.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV)* We are dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. We accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.

Easterseals New Hampshire’s Veterans Count provides a safety net of critical case management and emergency financial assistance to meet the unexpected needs of service members, veterans, and their families. Services include mental health counseling for individuals and couples, substance use treatment coordination, housing stabilization, benefits and services connection, employment support, aging and senior needs, money management and emergency financial assistance.

Homefront Strong The mission of HomeFront Strong, formerly known as the Brookfield Institute, is to build resilience in veterans and military families through targeted programs and resources. Our vision is to ensure every military and veteran family has the necessary support to achieve optimal social, spiritual, physical and mental health for joyful, meaningful lives. We offer public events, trainings, support groups, and outreach.

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society® The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.

Paralyzed Veterans of America is a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946, has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of our members – veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.

PVA will use that expertise to be the leading advocate for:

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) The mission of the VFW is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans. The VFW offers assistance with filing a claim, mental wellness, financial grants and student veteran support. The VFW advocates for legislative priorities, national security and foreign affairs, women veterans, grassroots efforts, and accessing VA healthcare and benefits.

Wounded Warrior Project®  The (WWP) mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors who have experienced physical or mental injuries, illnesses, or wounds while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001. The organization also serves the family members and caregivers of wounded warriors.

WoVeN Established in 2017, WoVeN is a vibrant community for women Veterans of all eras and service branches. In addition to providing community, WoVeN strives to empower women Veterans with information, education, and resources to improve their quality of life.
