Framework for Trauma-Informed and Responsive (TIR) Organizations

TIR Framework graphic

The Framework for Trauma-Informed and Responsive Organizations is a product of the state Childhood Trauma Task Force. It is designed for any organization that comes contact with children and youth, from schools, health care providers, community organizations, and service providers to law enforcement agencies, the judicial system, and state agencies.

This 20-page document lays out five Guiding Principles (in purple on the graphic) for establishing a Trauma-Informed and Responsive (TIR) approach in an organization as well as five Domains (in blue) in which the Guiding Principles should be applied. The CTTF hopes this can help establish a consistent, statewide understanding of what it means to be “trauma-informed” in practice, and that it provides useful guidance to organizations looking to be trauma-informed and responsive.
