Cancer Incidence - City & Town Data Dashboard
The Massachusetts Cancer Registry (MCR) is excited to release five new years of cancer incidence data for 2016-2020 at the city and town level in a new interactive online dashboard created through a collaboration with the Bureau of Climate and Environmental Health.
Cancer Incidence - City & Town Data Dashboard
The new dashboard provides the number of observed and expected diagnoses for 24 cancer types and all invasive cancers along with Standardized Incidence Ratios (SIRs) and measures of statistical significance and stability for each of the cities and towns in Massachusetts. Containing the same data as the MCR’s traditional city and town report, this dashboard goes further to provide graphical representation of the data and the ability to visualize trends for any consecutive 5 year period from 2000-2004 to 2016-2020. The 2016-2020 data were collected as of June 1, 2024.
As of 2025, the MCR will no longer produce new city and town hard copy reports. Instead, new data will be updated in the interactive data dashboard. Reports were not produced for 2012-2016, 2013-2017, 2014-2018, and 2015-2019. Those years are available on the dashboard, however. Older reports from 1982 to 2008 can be requested at macancerregistry@mass.gov.
