MassDEP Toxics & Chemicals Grants & Assistance

Supports local recycling, composting/organics, reuse, source reduction, policy development and enforcement activities that increase diversion and reduce disposal.

Applicants can receive up to 80 hours of recycling/solid waste planning assistance from a MassDEP Municipal Assistance Coordinator (MAC).

Provides partial reimbursement to owners/operators of underground storage tank (UST) systems for costs resulting from petroleum product releases.

Awards and assistance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help states, tribes, and businesses reduce or eliminate waste and pollution.

Provides loans of up to $500,000 to help Massachusetts businesses obtain the capital they need for recycling-related activities.

Support for academic research, community organizations and municipal departments, as well as businesses in their efforts to encourage people to switch from toxic chemicals to safer alternatives or methods.
