OIG 2018 Reports and Recommendations

The Office of the Inspector General reviewed a $117,743 payment the Board of Trustees of the Helen Y. Davis Leadership Academy made to its former executive director when she retired. The OIG found that the Board overpaid the former executive director nearly $100,000.

A joint effort by federal and state agencies, including the OIG, found evidence that Mayor Jasiel F. Correia II allegedly defrauded investors of more than $230,000.

Granite City Electric Supply Co. will pay more than $2.3 million to settle allegations that it overbilled hundreds of state entities.

The former director of the Ashburnham public library pled guilty in Worcester Superior Court to embezzling over $53,000 from the library.

The Inspector General opposed the creation of a new tax credit. As proposed, the tax credit would not benefit the Massachusetts economy and contains insufficient safeguards.
