Facilities   at State Police Brookfield Barracks

Located in a region formerly inhabited by the Quaboag tribe of the Algonquin Native Americans, the Brookfield Barracks stands near Route 9, a significant east/west thoroughfare. Before the Massachusetts Turnpike was constructed, Route 9 was the principal route connecting Boston and New York. The area is celebrated for its outdoor recreational activities, including fishing, camping, and hunting, spanning 334 square miles.

The mission of SP Brookfield remains largely unchanged since 1930. Troopers in cruisers patrol the area, engaging in a comprehensive range of police duties from traffic enforcement to investigating burglaries. Additionally, this barracks serves as a support agency for local part-time and full-time police departments in need of assistance.
