Overview

SP Middleboro holds the primary responsibility for patrolling 21 miles of Route 24, stretching from Brockton to Freetown, 22 miles of Route 495 from Taunton to Wareham, and 7 miles of Route 140 from Taunton to Freetown. Additionally, this barracks extends its patrol to cover 94 miles of secondary routes, including Route 44, 18, 28, and 138.

SP Middleboro's main responsibility covers a stretch of 21 miles along Route 24 from Brockton to Freetown, 22 miles of Route 495 from Taunton to Wareham, and 7 miles of Route 140 from Taunton to Freetown. Additionally, it oversees 94 miles of secondary patrol coverage on routes 44, 18, 28, and 138.

The barracks comprises Troop D headquarters, a substation, and various specialty units. Support functions like vehicle maintenance, radio repair, and communications equipment/towers are housed in adjacent buildings. The current building, operational since 1956, replaced previous headquarters in Middleboro, a barracks in West Bridgewater, and the State Prison facility in Bridgewater.

SP Middleboro's patrol area includes Massasoit State Park in East Taunton, featuring four lakes ideal for fishing. Popular activities in the area include swimming, biking, canoeing, walking, hiking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing.
