SP Middleboro is primarily responsible for patrolling 21 miles of Route 24 from Brockton to the Freetown, 22 miles of Route 495 from Taunton to Wareham and 7 miles of Route 140 from Taunton to Freetown. This barracks also provides 94 miles of secondary patrol coverage of Route 44, 18, 28 and 138.
The main building houses Troop "D" headquarters, a substation and various specialty units. Adjacent buildings supply support functions such as vehicle maintenance, radio repair and communications equipment/towers. The current building was opened in 1956 and replaced previous headquarters location in Middleboro, the State Prison facility at Bridgewater and a barracks in West Bridgewater.
SP Middleboro's patrol area is home to Massasoit State Park in East Taunton. Four lakes provide excellent fishing. Swimming, biking, canoeing, walking, hiking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and ice fishing are popular activities.
