MassDOT Municipal Planning and Support

MassDOT’s Municipal Planning and Support Group’s mission is to advance local and regional transportation needs by connecting communities with technical support and funding opportunities.

MassDOT’s Municipal Planning and Support can help your community with determining eligibility for federal discretionary and formula funding programs, providing technical assistance in drafting and reviewing grant applications, assisting with pre-application processes, advising on strategies to identify and secure local, state, or other match funding for federal grant applications, and issuing MassDOT letters of support for grant applications. The group also manages MassDOT’s LEAP (Local Early-stage Actionable Planning) program aimed at providing technical assistance to underserved Massachusetts communities, with a focus on rural areas and Gateway Cities.
