News  Appointments Announced in the Executive Office of the Trial Court

Senior Manager for Access to Justice & Attorney for Diversity named

Boston — Chief Justice of the Trial Court Paula Carey and Court Administrator Harry Spence are pleased to announce appointments for two existing positions they have moved into the Executive Office of the Trial Court to underscore their importance to the overall Trial Court.   “We are excited to welcome these accomplished professionals to work with us in two critical areas for the court system – access to justice and diversity.”
 

Senior Manager for Access to Justice

Maura J. Kelly has been appointed Senior Manager for Access to Justice effective February 1, 2017. She has served as Assistant Dean at the Center for Co-op & Professional Advancement at Northeastern University School of Law since 2014. She previously worked at Boston University School of Law in various roles, including Assistant Dean for Public Interest Initiatives and Assistant Dean for Career Development and Public Service. She served as the first General Counsel for Lesley University in the late 90’s and began her legal career as a staff attorney for non-profits providing legal services. She is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law, has a master’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts, and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and secondary education from the University of New Hampshire. Maura will report directly to Chief Justice Carey and Court Administrator Spence. She will work closely with Access to Justice Special Advisor Judge Dina Fein.
 

Attorney for Diversity

Heena Trivedi has been appointed Attorney for Diversity effective February 6, 2017. Since 2013 she has served as a Civil Rights Investigator for the Mass. Department of Transportation/MBTA where she created specialized training programs and contributed to the expansion of the Equal Employment Opportunity program. She previously provided HR consulting services to law firms and organizations in the public and private sectors on EEO, diversity and inclusion, customer service and management skills. She also served as Brown University’s Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Enrichment. She received her law degree from Suffolk University, a master’s of science from Michigan State, and a bachelor’s degree from Alderson-Broaddus College. Heena will report to Chief Experience and Diversity Officer John Laing. She assumes the responsibilities previously held by Mira Dandridge who is retiring after 36 years of service to the Commonwealth.
