Massachusetts — Three Ayer District Court Probation employees will be sworn in before an audience of friends, family and colleagues at a 3 p.m. courthouse ceremony on Friday, October 28th. The courthouse is located at 25 East Main Street.
First Justice J. Elizabeth Cremens will administer the oath and preside over the ceremony. Assistant Chief Probation Officer Mary Kubat and two Probation Officers, Brandon McLaughlin and Clara Bett will be sworn in and presented with their official Massachusetts Probation Service (MPS) badges.
Assistant Chief Kubat worked as a Gardner District Court Probation Officer for 18 years prior to being appointed to her current position at Ayer District Court. Probation Officer Bett served as an Associate Probation Officer (APO) for seven years at Fitchburg District Court. McLaughlin was employed as an Assistant Coordinator II at the Electronic Monitoring Center for eight years before assuming his Probation Officer position at Ayer District.
“The new Assistant Chief and two Probation Officers are an important part of our agency. They bring to their positions the excitement, creativity, and expertise to work with families and children during a crucial time in their lives,” said Probation Commissioner Edward J. Dolan.
“It is my honor to formally administer the oath of office to Assistant Chief Mary Kubat, Probation Officer Clara Bett and Probation Officer Brendan McLaughlin,” said Judge Cremens. “This day is long overdue as Assistant Chief Mary Kubat has been in her position for over two years and Probation Officers Clara Bett and Brendan McLaughlin for a year. Each has demonstrated their competence and commitment to the duties and demands of their positions. The Trial Court is fortunate to have them.”
The Ayer District Court Probation Department is one of the 62 District Court Probation Departments across the Commonwealth. The court also houses the Ayer Drug Court. The Ayer District Court Probation Department is managed by Chief Probation Officer Susan Reed.
