Wakefield — In an emergency Board meeting on March 16, 2020, the board approved an interim policy on telemedicine, clarifying that a face-to-face encounter between the physician and the patient is not required prior to health care delivery via telemedicine.

The interim policy also specifies that the standard of care applicable to the physician is the same whether the patient is seen in-person or through telemedicine.
