Do you have a culvert that needs to be replaced in your town?
The Massachusetts Division of Ecological Restoration will be partnering with multiple municipalities and organizations to host five (5) free training sessions on culvert replacement design in the Spring and Summer of 2025. The trainings will each vary slightly, but will all focus on key things to consider during culvert replacement projects with the goal of saving your town time and money. The half-day trainings are designed to assist municipalities in their efforts to replace aging culverts with structures that can safely pass large storm flows and allow for more natural river function.
The trainings will be led or co-led by David Azinheira, PE, CFM, DER's Stream Crossing Specialist. David provides culvert replacement technical assistance to municipalities across Massachusetts. Training are anticipated to extend from approximately 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Pre-registration is required. Information and a sign-up link for each of five (5) trainings are provided below:
