A Letter from the Commissioner

Dear DDS Community,

When I began working with DDS 26 years ago, the agency looked very different than it does today. We have grown to serve over 41,000 individuals and are now the largest human service agency in state government. Even as we continue to expand our reach and goals, we have never lost sight of the true mission of this agency -- to empower the individuals we serve to become fully engaged members of their communities.

From our dedicated staff, our advocates who champion our causes, to the individuals and families we serve who remind us of the importance of this work, I am so grateful to each and every one of you for the roles you play in making DDS the agency that it is.

I wish you a warm and cheer-filled holiday season, with time to rest and recharge with your loved ones so that we may enter this new year reinvigorated. I'm excited to see what 2023 has in store for DDS.
