On May 21,  the Baker-Polito Administration announced an expanded COVID-19 Homebound Vaccination Program. The current vaccine preregistration system will close at the end of May, the vaccine finder website VaccineFinder will remain active.

Beginning May 24, the Administration will expand the state’s Homebound Vaccination Program, in-home vaccinations for people unable to get to a vaccine site. This expansion will support continued vaccination of hard-to-reach populations, including the DDS population.

You may call (833) 983-0485, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, to register.  Once registered, individuals will be called within five business days by the state’s Homebound Vaccine Provider, Commonwealth Care Alliance, to schedule an appointment. It may take time to get an appointment and the quickest way to get vaccinated remains scheduling a vaccination site by visiting VaccineFinder.

Note that the Homebound Program is primarily using Johnson & Johnson vaccines, which  requires only one visit to an individual’s home. For 12-17 year olds the Program is offering Pfizer vaccines.

Effective May 25, preregistration at vaccinesignup.mass.gov will be closed to new submissions. People currently in the system will be contacted to book an appointment. The Vaccine Finder website will remain available. You may also call ‘211’ to access the Massachusetts Vaccine Scheduling Help Line.
