News  Massachusetts Board of Medicine Takes Disciplinary Action – March 2, 2023

WAKEFIELDAt its meeting on March 2, 2023, the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine took disciplinary action against the medical license of Michael V. Elman, M.D.

In a Consent Order, the Board reprimanded the license of Dr. Michael V. Elman after he agreed that he committed malpractice in performing a surgical procedure and engaged in instances of disruptive behavior at Norwood Hospital.  The Board also imposed a $2,500 fine. Dr. Elman was first licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts on April 16, 2008. He practices medicine in a private office in Braintree and is affiliated with Norwood Hospital, Steward Carney Hospital and Morton Hospital & Medical Center.  Dr. Elman is also licensed in New Hampshire and New York.

The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine licenses more than 40,000 physicians, osteopaths and acupuncturists.  The Board was created in 1894 to protect the public health and safety by setting standards for the practice of medicine and ensuring that doctors who practice in the Commonwealth are appropriately qualified and competent.
