"I generally use a guide dog to get around, but sometimes I need to use my white cane. To me, my white cane means freedom. With it, I hope people will be more careful and considerate. Also, it is empowering because I am able to go places and do things I like to do without having to always depend on others. It makes me more independent."

The mission of the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) is to provide individualized training, education, and empowerment to people who are legally blind, and advocate for inclusive policies across the Commonwealth, with the goal of life-long independence and full community participation.
