BOSTON — The National Federation of the Blind of Massachusetts is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year. Up to three scholarships may be awarded, including one for $3,000 and two for $1,500 each. Please read all instructions carefully and pay close attention to the deadlines.
All applicants must:
- Be legally blind or have a visual impairment that requires the applicant to obtain services from a teacher of the visually impaired;
- Be a resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts;
- Plan to pursue a full-time, postsecondary course of study in the 2023 - 2024 academic year;
- Arrange for three reference letters from professors, counselors, and/or employers who have worked with the applicant within the past year. The reference letters should be emailed to SharaWinton@gmail.com by January 30, 2023 with the word “reference” and the applicant's name in the subject line.
- Participate in the entire NFBMA state convention and in all scheduled scholarship program activities to be held in-person March 3 through March 5, 2023, at the Embassy Suites, Logan Airport Boston; with a virtual component on March 2 that should also be attended.
- Send completed scholarship applications to SharaWinton@gmail.com with the word “scholarship” in the subject line.
Deadline: Applications must be received on or before January 30, 2023.
