SturbridgeMassachusetts State Police Release -- 05122018 -- Motor Vehicle Stop on Route 84 in Sturbridge Leads to the Arrest of 3 Adults for Trafficking Cocaine

Yesterday at approximately 1:40 p.m., Trooper Scott Shea assigned to the State Police Barracks in Sturbridge was on patrol on Route 84 East when he observed a gray Ford Explorer travelling in the center lane.   A query of the Explorer’s registration through the Registry of Motor Vehicle revealed the vehicle was entered as stolen last month in New York.  Trooper Shea subsequently stopped the vehicle, which had three occupants, on Route 84 East just prior to exit 2 in Sturbridge.  Trooper Sergio Figueiredo assisted during the stop.

As a result of an investigation and search of the vehicle 1,050 grams of cocaine was located. The operator, CANDICE ELLIOTT, 34, of Laurelton, NY, the front seat passenger; CRYSTAL GILES, 26 of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and the rear passenger; CARL FRANCOIS, 30 0f Elmont, NY were placed under arrest and transported to the Sturbridge Barracks where they booked and held pending bail of $10,000.00.

All three occupants were charged with the following:

1) TRAFFICKING IN COCAINE;

2) RECEIVE STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE;

3) POSSESS TO DISTRIBUTE COCAINE

No further information is currently available.  Please do not call the barracks directly for media inquiries.
